sweetgreen is committed to providing a sustainable dining experience. We are certified by the Green Restaurants Association (GRA), which means we have committed to a continuous effort to implement more eco-friendly practices in our restaurant. When you eat at sweetgreen, you can expect to experience:
- Biodegradable packaging and utensils: our salad bowls, to-go dressing containers, yogurt cups, forks and spoons are all made from corn starch-based plastic. Check out this post for more information on the materials and where we get them.
- Clean energy: we are completely wind-powered and buy our energy from CleanCurrents.
- Reusable salad bowls: called Salad Blasters, you can buy one for $6 and get a free extra topping on your salad each time you bring it back. It’s our way of saying thank you for choosing sustainability.
- Organic cotton T-shirts
- Energy efficient lighting
- Reusable canvas bags
- Local and organic produce: we buy our fresh produce daily from Keany Produce, a produce supplier which sources from local farms and supplies many organic fruits and vegetables. Selection changes daily, so feel free to ask us what’s local and organic when you come in.
- Plantable menus: our takeout menus are embedded with wildflower seeds! Cover them with soil and give them a little water and they will sprout right up.
